  • When one always gives in to ones feelings, they go about feeling the pleasantness of not having to experience the pains of self-control.  When someone always follows their feelings, they feel less.  It seems that through deprivation and absence of comforting that one feels and grows.  The feeling of intensity and desire grow from the absence of the desired projection.

An element of abstention, of restraint, must enter into all finer joys.  ~Vida D. Scudder

A silly idea is current that good people do not know what temptation means.  This is an obvious lie.  Only those who try to resist temptation know how strong it is....  A man who gives in to temptation after five minutes simply does not know what it would have been like an hour later.  That is why bad people, in one sense, know very little about badness.  They have lived a sheltered life by always giving in.  ~C.S. Lewis

  • Down with Things...ugh

"Life is but a brief moment. The years go by quickly and old age arrives suddenly before we have an inkling....

People desire so many things and waste their days in vain. Some yearn for gold, others for power, yet others for glory and a higher station. But when death's moment nears and they look back at their lives they've lived, they realise they've been happy only during those moments when they've loved."

  • Lets fill the Divide.....

The political divide within the country right now, is one that cannot be repaired this November.  It is very unbecoming of a united country to create such a divide, as different political sides.  Whatever happened to working out issues to appease both parties, to make sacrifices that can allow for a stronger country?  A country that was built on a union of men that agreed to work together with one another to build a strong country that had pride in their union, and pride in standing above their petty disagreements for something much bigger than them.  It seems that everyone has an opinion on who should be the next president, and it’s not just an opinion, it’s a hatred for the opponent.    This November, no matter how we look at it….half the country is going to hate the political candidate that gets into office.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could put aside our pride in losing this political game, and support the candidate whoever it may be, and work to form a union between the different parties.  A union that moderates their left and right wing views to make a stronger country that assesses people’s views before pouring their parties’ stance down their political opponent’s throat.  Instead of focusing on whether were right or left were winged; let’s think about whether our leaders are making right or wrong decisions.

There are always too many Democratic congressmen, too many Republican congressmen, and never enough U.S. congressmen.  ~Author Unknown

  • If we cut up beasts simply because they cannot prevent us and because we are backing our own side in the struggle for existence, it is only logical to cut up imbeciles, criminals, enemies, or capitalists for the same reasons.
